Error 1 – If it smells good it is clean

Scent is not the same. Perfumes are added to cleansers to mask the odor of the other ingredients. So you can not tell from the smell that was cleaned very thoroughly.
Fragrances are also used to give a good feeling or to ensure the recognition of certain brands. The cleaning effect is not improved. On the contrary – different fragrances can cause allergies and even damage your health.
The fresh, powerful smell of the toilet gel does not save me the cleaning of the toilet. Just as little as the fragrance dispenser in the refrigerator, the regular wiping out of the refrigerator.

Error 2 – There are dangerous bacteria in our toilets

Even the tiniest room in the house is treated with the most and “strongest” cleaning chemicals. To ensure cleanliness and hygiene, regular cleaning is the most important thing, including a “normal” general-purpose or sanitary cleaner. Use your own towels in the toilet and change them more often. By the way a  regular use of the toilet brush prevents stubborn dirt marks from forming.

Error 3 – Vinegar acts as a fabric softener

Vinegar refreshes the colors and removes any traces of detergent, but does not replace the softener.
Hard laundry is usually caused by incorrect dosage. The excess detergent is rinsed out worse, the residues are deposited in the fibers and make them hard. Too much skidding can make the laundry hard. The fabric fibers get caught in each other and towels come out hard like a board.
Pay attention to the correct dosage and shake your laundry well before drying. This loosens the fibers and the laundry handle gets softer. Incidentally, the wind also has the same effect on laundry that dries outdoors. Do not load too much in the washing machine. If the laundry is well flooded with water, less detergent remains in it.

Error 4 – Soft soap is to be used everywhere

Soft soap cleans well with greasy dirt. Made on the basis of herbal surfactants, it is also readily biodegradable. However, soft soap is alkaline and when mixed with water, you can make a strong lye, which carries a risk of chemical burns. Be sure to use gloves and watch out for the eyes.
In areas with hard water, the use is not effective because the lime in the water creates a gray haze. The cleaning result is then not satisfying.

Error 5 – Window is best cleaned in sunshine

Do not clean your windows in fantastic weather. In glistening sunshine, the fine streaks and small fly points on the disc can be much harder to localize and the glare is too strong to be able to clean exactly. In addition, the glass dries faster than you are able to polish. The result is streaks. Shit cloudy weather is window cleaning weather!

Error 6 – Vinegar is suitable for all floors

Vinegar cleaner or sanitary cleaner is often used in the bathroom and toilet. At high water hardness, the acid contained against lime pollution. If the floor is made of calcareous material (for example, many natural stone floors, marble, …), the cleaner attacks not only the dirt, but also the flooring. Matte spots and splashes are then no dirt, but material damage that does not disappear again.
To protect the tile joints from acidic sanitary cleaners, water them before cleaning. So less acid penetrates into the joints.

Error 7 – The ground pecks, again not cleaned!

With more cleaning supplies, it is not faster and better. The opposite is the case. Sometimes the “more” of cleaning products even leaves behind ugly residues. The truth is that the fresher the dirt is fought, the more easily it dissolves. Cooking over the food, a wiper with a damp sponge is enough and everything is clean again Stoves stick tightly and are very difficult to loosen, and even dried-on stains in textiles are almost impossible to remove.
Gray streaks or sticky shoe soles do not say anything about lack of cleanliness. Rather, someone meant it too well here. At higher doses residues of detergent remain on the floor. This surfactant film attracts dust, causing streaks to become visible, the shoes sticking, and the floor gets dirty faster. A vicious circle gets going. More and more often with more and more funds cleaned. At the same time the cleaning result satisfies less and less

Error 8 – Put detergent in hot water

If the water is too hot, the effect of the agent can be reduced. In addition, a harmful, chemical water vapor can arise. Hot water is only suitable for washing dishes, because fat is dissolved. Cleaning agents are best used in lukewarm or cold water.

Error 9 – Spray detergent directly on surfaces

This type of cleaning should be used sparingly and only on extremely dirty surfaces. Direct spraying of the cleaner on soiled areas will leave residue of the cleaner there (e.g., sticky spots on wood furniture or small splashes on walls). Instead, spray the product better on a microfiber cloth. With this technique, you also have some of your cleaner longer.
